Asana Travel mats are 183x61 cm; these dimensions are optimal for comfortable practice based on the average size of an adult of European descent (177 cm for men and 169 cm for women). This size helps keep the mat's weight to a minimum. The mat is 2 mm thick.

Do you offer Asana Travel mats with larger dimensions?

How comfortable is the Asana Travel mat's thickness? Is it hard on the knees/elbows?

If you use the Asana Travel on its own, it can seem a bit harsh. For those with sensitive joints we recommend using it as a topper for another mat, for example to improve the performance of the other mat or to avoid using a shared community mat. Having said that, 2 mm mats offer six times more shock absorption than 1 mm mats. Experienced practitioners who are used to training on tough surfaces will definitely appreciate this.

What material is the Asana Travel mat's upper surface made of?

Asana Travel's upper surface is made of polycotton with an anti-slip treatment. It's the softest mat you'll ever touch, but at the same time it's a very durable fabric surface. Practicing on it is a very pleasant experience.

What does the Asana Travel mat's surface feel like?

As far as tactile sensation goes, the surface is similar to synthetic chamois leather, but even softer and more pleasant to the touch.

How does a polycotton surface (like the Asana Travel has) differ from a microfiber surface?

Polycotton is a mix of polyester and cotton; it combines the tactile qualities of natural fabric with the durability of synthetic fabric. Microfiber is a completely synthetic material that is smooth and relatively slippery. Polycotton is more "natural" and offers much stronger grip than microfiber. How tough are Asana Travel mats? Won't they tear because they're so thin?

Asana Travel mats have a very sturdy, heavy-duty surface made of polycotton. It will keep your mat from tearing. The 2 mm thick rubber base will serve you for many years if you store it properly. Asana Travel is one of our most durable lines.

Will the Asana Travel mat stretch out during practice?

The sturdy, heavy-duty surface (polycotton) prevents stretching, even in tiny amounts. It is precisely the absence of stretching that distinguishes a high-quality mat from fitness mats and other cheaper alternatives.

Do Asana Travel mats have an odor?

A new mat may give off a mild rubber odor straight out of the box. It's not toxic or hazardous to your health. In general, the smell will dissipate between a couple hours to 1-3 days later. The intensity will depend on your individual sensitivity. To ensure the odor fades quickly, we recommend you unroll your mat in a well-ventilated area. Any further cleaning or processing of the mat is not necessary.

Do the Asana Travel mat's colors bleed?

The Asana Travel's print is applied using water- and heat-resistant dyes. These mats do not bleed or fade during washing.

Are the Asana Travel mat's materials safe for my skin?

The mats consist of natural, ecological materials as well as stable polymers and non-toxic dyes. All materials are hypoallergenic and completely safe for humans and animals, as long as they're not consumed as food. Since the base is made of natural rubber foam, it requires regular care, especially if it is used for outdoor practice.

What does the Eco-friendly label on your products mean?

How do I properly roll the Asana Travel mat up?

Can I fold the Asana Travel mat instead of rolling it up?

We designed the Asana Travel series specifically so you could fold your mat up like a towel and pack it into a purse, backpack, or suitcase. You should only fold your mat for transporting it around. Only store your mat in its rolled up state.

How should I care for my Asana Travel mat?

Wipe the mat with a moist cloth to remove any dirt along with dust and sweat after every practice. Wash your hands and feet before practicing. Do not use soap or other products intended for your skin to clean your mat.

How do I clean my Asana Travel mat if becomes heavily soiled? Can I put it in the washing machine?

If your Asana Travel mat gets extra dirty, place it in the washing machine at 30°C on the "synthetic," "wool," or "delicate" cycle. Use 1/2 the recommended amount of laundry detergent based on the mat's weight. Make sure to turn on the extra rinse cycle. If foam remains after rinsing, rinse the mat one more time. Don't run the mat through the spin cycle or leave it to soak in the water.

How long will the Asana Travel's print last?

Our printing process uses special water-, heat-, and light-resistant dyes. The print will not fade under ultraviolet rays or after multiple washes, as long as the washing guidelines are followed. Our own tests have demonstrated how the Asana Travel's colors stayed just as bright after 50 wash cycles. Brightly-colored mats may fade slightly if they are not promptly cleaned, or if you do not take care to wash your feet before practice.

What's the best way to dry my Asana Travel mat out?

To squeeze out the water, lay a large towel on top of your mat and tightly roll them up together. After your towel has absorbed the excess moisture, dry your mat on a clothes hanger, chair, or stool with rounded edges. Dry your mat in a well-ventilated room or outside (in the shade). Don't place it near heating elements or in direct sunlight.

Can I practice in shoes on the Asana Travel mat?

Careful use of sneakers with soft soles is permitted. Scuff marks on the sleek surface will be more noticeable than if shoes were not worn during practice. The surface's nap (fuzzy raised layer) might also be wiped away.

Can I practice outdoors with the Asana Travel mat?

You can practice on Asana Travel outdoors, but it's best not to lay your mat on sharp rocks, gravel, or other rough surfaces that may damage the mat's base.

What is the proper temperature range for using and storing the Asana Travel mat?

Don't store your mat near heating elements, under direct sunlight, or in below-freezing temperatures. Don't leave your mat for long periods in your car, especially on hot or freezing days.

Which situations might cause my hands to slip on the Asana Travel mat?

Your hands might slip on a Asana Travel mat if: - You have very dry and/or cold palms. If that is the case, we recommend the Align, NonSlip Pro, or NonSlip Travel lines; - You use hand lotion with silicon additives. In that case your skin may stay slippery for up to 72 hours; - You wash your mat with soap or other products intended for skin; - You don't take care of your mat on a regular basis—over time, it might become saturated with sweat and oil from your hands

Orders will be shipped within 3 days from the moment they are confirmed. Shipping times for international orders vary from 14-55 days, depending on the region. How long will the pickup point hold my order for?

Holding times depend on the transport company and the terms of service of each specific pickup point. On average it ranges from 7-10 days. At post offices packages may be held for up to 20 days. If you do not pick up your package in time, it will be returned to us and you'll receive a refund minus the cost of shipping and return shipping.

Can I designate somebody else as a recipient?

If you know beforehand that someone else will be receiving your order, please indicate the recipient's details in the comments of your order, or send a message to an associate during checkout. After your order is shipped, we are not able to change the delivery address or the recipient's name. Most shipping companies will only deliver prepaid packages to the customer indicated on the shipping label. Why are there different prices for mats within the same series?

All mats within a single series are identical in regards to specifications and only differ in the color of the surface and the print. If we happen to have a larger stock of a certain print, the price may be slightly lower. Difference in price does not mean difference in quality.

Are there any special terms for instructors?

For instructors of yoga, fitness, stretching, and dance we offer a 25% discount off the product total of your order. While processing your order we will ask you to provide legitimate proof of your instructor status, for example a certificate of completion of an instructor course.

I teach without a certificate. Can I also receive instructor discount?

The discount is only offered to certified instructors. If you teach without a diploma or certificate that can prove your status, this discount will not be available.

I am still in the process of certification. Can I also receive the instructor discount?

The discount is only offered to certified instructors. You can receive this discount after completing your certification.

I would like to gift a mat to my instructor. Can I also receive the instructor discount?

The discount is not available based on another person's certification. The instructor would need to independently complete an order and confirm their status.
